Updating the firmware on your drive

Use the WD Firmware Updater utility to update the firmware on your My Book or My Passport drive.

After the firmware update completes:

1. Click Exit to close the WD Firmware Updater utility.
2. Depending on your drive:
   • For My Book Studio and My Passport Studio drives, restart your computer.
   • For all other My Book and My Passport drives, power cycle the drive off and then back on.

If the firmware update fails:

1. Click Exit to close the WD Firmware Updater utility.
2. Close all running applications on your computer.
3. Run the WD Firmware Updater again.
