Logging on with administrator privileges

You must be logged on to your computer as a user with administrator privileges to update the firmware on your My Book or My Passport drive.

To log on as an administrator:

1. Click Exit.
2. Log off and log back on as a user with administrator privileges.

Note: Normally, if you own the computer you are the administrator by default. If someone else set up your computer for you—as the administrator—that person must log on as an administrator and provide administrator privileges for your user name.
